Membership in Lodge
For membership in Humanist Lodge, one can enter as an initiate or as an affiliate Freemason. Each have their own requirements that we adhere as a lodge.
Prospect for initiation
To be considered for initiation in this lodge, and enjoy the rights attached to the title of Freemason of Humanist Lodge and that of the George Washington Union, an individual must:
Have reached legal age,
have an impeccable reputation and morals,
have a level of education allowing them to understand Masonic teachings,
not be or have been a member or sympathizer of an association or group advocating racial discrimination, violence towards a person or group of people due to their origin, their ethnicity or a specific religion, and which spread or have spread ideas and theories justifying or encouraging this discrimination, hatred or violence,
not be a member or sympathizer of an association or group considered to be a cult movement, notably an organization whose philosophy or actions are incompatible with the values of the George Washington Union, i.e. aiming to destroy, destabilize or alienate human beings.

Affiliation to the lodge
Our lodge is open for visitation to all Freemasons who have been regularly initiated in a just and perfect lodge of Freemasonry. After a Freemason has visited us a number of times, they are welcome to petition the lodge for affiliation by application.
